The music decibel level is way too high: at times 97, and that is the maximum allowable for 30 minutes per day. Several folks, including children wear visible ear protection. Sermons tend to be topical such as six weeks of "thinking out of the "box." Next, was weeks of the topic of "Represent."
A focus on teaching of the Bible, verse by verse, would be my choice.
Tithing is reported down and messages have hit very hard on giving. Apparently, it was proclaimed the budget was "short" $200,000, for Sept. -Nov., 2016! The preachers vary between a youth leader, Adam, Joel, and Mr. Jarrell.
No notice is given in the bulletin of the "speaker" for the next week, so
you never know what you will get.

Didn't feel the Spirit here. A few friendly greeters but the rest of the people attending seemed self absorbed in a negative way. The music was not too loud but it was boring.

  • Flat out amazing. Great people, light, sound, comfort.. a family mentality.

  • It's sad to see reviews from people who obviously don't go to ChangePoint on a regular basis. Being someone with a lighting and sound background, the sound quality is phenomenal and levels are appropriate (not too loud). Regarding giving, the pastors at ChangePoint enthusiastically encourage visitors to give nothing. Regulars who can't donate monetarily, but want to help can easily volunteer. I personally know ChangePoint regularly helps non-members and members cover their rent when they're in a bad situation finance wise, not to mention the many social programs supported by ChangePoint that continuously give back to Alaska. A church that has the motto "Life In Christ for Every Alaskan and the World Beyond", wants to improve our lives and gives back to our community is a church that I'm proud to attend. Keep up the good work Pastor Dan and Pastor Joel! (03/2017)
